Sweet Andi Mae

Our hearts go out to Matt's brother and family today. Yesterday they lost their little girl, Andi Mae, after suffering her whole 6 1/2 years with I-cell disease. The life expectancy of children with this condition is 3-5 years, so we all had a little extra time to know and love her. Even though she was very limited in her ability to respond, she gave us some sweet smiles to let us know she could see and hear us even a little.

Here is a touching tribute to her written by friends of their family who are like family and knew Andi better than any of us did. Andi, we will miss your perfect little spirit, and your mom and dad and little brother and sister will surely miss your presence in their lives. Russ and Erin, we love you and are praying for you and your family.

So sorry to hear of Russ and Erin's loss of Andi Mae. She was a sweet spirit so pure and pefect. I still remember when we had your wedding shower at I think it was their house in Salt Lake and she was a little baby. Seems impossible it has been that long ago. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time. What a wonderful reminder we have that Families Can Be Together Forever. Sending our love your way.

Hi, my name's Maggie and I accidently came across your page when I Googled I-Cell disease. I'm a sister to 3 siblings who passed from this illness and as you can imagine it has had a big impact on my life, for the most part not a bad one. Last year I joined a page on Facebook for families of children with this disease and you can't imagine how amazing it is connecting with them, seeing their pictures and hearing their stories. I don't know if your nieces parents are aware of it's existence but would you please point them in the direction of it? I'm sure if they're not members of it already, that it would make such a difference to them.
